Sleep & Relax Pouches

What this category will contain

This category is for nicotine-free pouches that their makers position for evening use. None are on sale at 24Nico at present.

Pouches positioned for the evening are usually caffeine-free. In place of caffeine, their ingredient lists tend to name things such as L-theanine, an amino acid found naturally in tea leaves; chamomile, a flowering plant best known as a herbal tea; or melatonin, a hormone the body produces that is also made synthetically. Melatonin is regulated differently from one market to the next, and whether a pouch containing it may be sold depends on local rules. No pouch with melatonin is sold at 24Nico today.

When products arrive, check these on the can:

• Nicotine: 0 mg, and no tobacco.
• Caffeine: a caffeine-free pouch lists none. Look out too for ingredients that contain caffeine naturally, such as yerba mate or guarana.
• Amounts: a clear label gives the amount of each named ingredient per pouch, not merely that it is present.
• The base: fibre, water, salt, sweeteners and flavourings, as in any other nicotine-free pouch.
• Directions and warnings: printed on the can by the maker. Read them before use.

Until the category opens, the nearest thing in our range is the caffeine-free side. There are 34 zero-nicotine pouches, the pouches many shoppers in Ireland call nicotine free snus, with 0 mg nicotine and no caffeine listed, in mint, fruit, berry, liquorice and snus-style flavours. The caffeine-free filter shows the same selection.
