Nicotine pouch brands: a global atlas
Around 30 nicotine pouch brands are available in the UK in 2026; several dozen more exist elsewhere. Most are Swedish in origin or manufactured in Sweden - including the two biggest brands in the world, ZYN and VELO, which are now owned by Philip Morris International and British American Tobacco respectively. The non-Swedish minority comes from Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Lithuania, Estonia, Poland and (for one brand, on!) the United States.
This is the atlas: who makes what, where they sit in the category, and which brands actually appear on UK shelves. Organised by origin and ownership rather than strength or flavour - once you know the manufacturer, a lot else (recipe consistency, format conventions, price tier) falls into place.

Who makes nicotine pouches? The short answer
Most nicotine pouch brands come from Sweden. That covers both the independent specialists you'll recognise (LOOP, Helwit, XQS, Klar, Siberia) and the world's biggest lines - ZYN, VELO and the Skruf range were all developed in Sweden before Big Tobacco acquired them. Only Altria's on! is genuinely American in origin. The remaining brands come from Sweden's near neighbours and continental Europe, with around 30 nicotine pouch brands available in the UK in 2026.
Brand vs manufacturer: a quick distinction
The name on the can isn't always the company that made it.
- Same entity: LOOP is made by Another Snus Factory; XQS is made by XQS itself.
- One maker, many brands: Skruf Snus AB (Imperial Brands) makes SUPERWHITE, X All White, ZONE and Knox at their Sävsjö facility. Another Snus Factory makes LOOP and Lynx. Yoik AB makes Helwit and BAOW. Kurbits Snus makes Avant and VID. Altria's Swedish operations (Råå S AB + Helix Sweden) sit behind on! and FUMi.
- Contract manufacturing: smaller brands design the recipe, then contract a Swedish facility to produce - which is why most UK-bought pouches trace back to Swedish production lines even when the brand identity is independent.
Two cans with very similar pouches inside often share a manufacturer. We've made the producer explicit per brand below where it's verified.
Swedish heritage brands
Sweden is the manufacturing centre of the global pouch category - 200 years of snus production turned into tobacco-free infrastructure in the late 2010s. Full story: history of nicotine pouches.
Apres. Stockholm · Apres Nicotine AB · 2021. Founded by two industry veterans, Jakob and Henrik. Fruit, mint and liquorice across several strengths, with recyclable cans and a Bower can-return rewards programme.
Avant. Stockholm · Kurbits Snus AB · 2019. Kurbits's flagship line, with distinct flavour profiles across slim-format strengths. Same producer also makes VID.
BAOW. Sweden · Yoik AB. Yoik's higher-strength sibling to Helwit. Unusual flavour palette - Gin & Tonic, peppermint with strong cooling, dark berry - aimed at the Xstrong/Ultra end.
Dunc. Odeshog · The Snus Brothers · 2014. From the Odeshog factory built by Kaj and Dennis (originally a garage operation), which now contract-manufactures for ~50 other brands. Broad strength range, bold mints and sharp fruit profiles.
FIX. Stockholm · HABIT Factory · 2018. HABIT also makes KLINT. Deliberately focused range rather than a sprawling catalogue - in-house batch testing for nicotine consistency.
Helwit. Gransholms Bruk, Vaxjo · Yoik AB (founded 2018) · brand launched 2021. Production powered by an adjacent hydroelectric plant; ISCC-certified pine-oil plastic cans cut can-manufacturing CO2 emissions by >85%. 15+ flavours from 3.5-7.5 mg per pouch. First brand to launch a banana-flavoured pouch.
Kelly White. Stockholm · White Industries AB · 2021. CEO Sophia Wilsby, chair Johan Sundstrom. Slim-format, flavour-led range that's expanded steadily since launch.
KLAR. Uppsala · Emplicure · founded 2014. The category outlier: KLAR uses patented SERATEK bioceramics - a biocompatible calcium powder - instead of plant fibre. Claims ~50% faster nicotine release; Mini format only because less material is needed per dose. Emplicure has no tobacco-industry links.
KUMA. Stockholm · Apres Nicotine AB · 2025. The newer sibling to Apres (Apres Group itself dates to 2021). Slim format, fruit-through-mint range, still building out the catalogue.
LAGOM. Sweden · Belagom AB. Deliberately focused on a small number of mints across Low and Normal strengths. "Lagom" is the Swedish concept of just enough - the brand's strategy mirrors the word.
LOOP. Sweden · Another Snus Factory · 2019. One of the brands that defined the flavour-led, recyclable-packaging direction at the end of the 2010s. Mini, Slim and Large formats with a flavour catalogue that refreshes regularly.
Lynx. Sweden · Another Snus Factory. LOOP's stablemate, separate visual identity. Berry-led and mint variants at higher strengths.
NUED. Stockholm · VONT AB · 2019. NUED is VONT AB's nicotine pouch brand, sitting at 7 mg per pouch across the range. CO2;-neutral manufacturing is part of the company positioning.
Siberia All White. Enkoping · Swedish Smokeless Solutions (formerly GN Tobacco Sweden AB) · tobacco-free production since 2014.*The company was founded in 2004 by Gevorg Nalbandyan, rebranded from GN Tobacco to Swedish Smokeless Solutions after 20 years in the smokeless category; the same firm also makes White Fox and Oden's. Siberia All White carries the brand's extra-strong mint heritage into tobacco-free format. Tobacco-containing snus is made at a separate Bispgarden facility.
Smogen. Sweden · Smogensnus AB · autumn 2024. West-coast Bohuslan-themed, with three variants - Seabreeze Mint, West Coast Berries, Stormy Licorice - at 13 mg/g. One of the youngest brands in our coverage.
Stingfree. Lidingo, Stockholm · Stingfree AB. Distinguished by PROTEX - a 25-micron biofilm on one side of the pouch (the side resting against the gum) that aims to reduce gum irritation. Unusual shareholder base: real-estate billionaire Erik Selin and Professor Curt Enzell, former Swedish Match head of research and inventor of the first portioned snus. Manufacturing is outsourced.
TOGO. Lidkoping · Setas Group AB. Bold and cooling flavour identity - the Cold Mint -90 variant signals the direction. Normal through Xstrong.
Valkyria. Sweden · Valkyria Nicotine AB. Norse/British mythology-themed - Pictish Spearmint, Viking Maiden Peach. Slim format, 4.5-9 mg per pouch.
VID. Stockholm · Kurbits Snus AB. Same producer as Avant. CO2;-neutral production of both packaging and pouch contents is the distinguishing claim.
XO. Malmo · BAS Nordic AB. Smaller catalogue, slim format, clear flavour and design identity rather than constant releases.
XQS. Founded Jamtland 2005 · now Scandinavian Tobacco Group (acquired April 2023) · operates as XQS International, based in Dalarna. One of the oldest brands in the modern white-pouch category. Mint, fruit and citrus combinations across slim-format strengths.
Brands owned by Big Tobacco
A separate tier: the pouch portfolios of the five Big Tobacco companies - PMI, BAT, JTI, Imperial Brands and Altria. These brands didn't grow as independent specialists; they were either developed in-house at Big Tobacco or acquired and scaled into the supermarket / corner-shop / global-retail channels that come with that ownership. Most are Swedish in origin or Swedish-manufactured - the Big Tobacco story in nicotine pouches is largely a story of acquiring Sweden's independent pouch scene.
ZYN. Sweden (developed by Swedish Match) · Philip Morris International (since 2022) · launched US 2014, Sweden 2016. The dominant pouch brand globally - by some estimates >70% of global pouch sales by mid-decade. PMI's 2022 Swedish Match acquisition was substantially driven by ZYN's US trajectory. Slim, Mini Dry and Moist formats; former VOLT products folded in over time.
VELO. Sweden (developed by Winnington AB) · British American Tobacco (since 2018). Lineage: Epok (Winnington AB, 2014, first all-white snus) → BAT acquisition 2018 → tobacco-free relaunch as Lyft → globally consolidated as VELO in 2020. Sold in the UK, US, Mexico, Kenya and other markets across multiple formats, flavours and strengths.
VELO SHIFT. British American Tobacco · 2024. Hexagonal can in 90% bio-based recyclable material. Five flavours with sensory effects - cooling or warming.
Nordic Spirit. Japan Tobacco International. Swedish-snus-heritage framing (Scandinavian naming, lagom lifestyle). Widely distributed through UK supermarket and specialist retail.
Skruf SUPERWHITE. Savsjo, Smaland · Skruf Snus AB (Imperial Brands since 2008) · 2018. Imperial Tobacco acquired 43.5% of Skruf in 2005 and the remaining shares in July 2008. SUPERWHITE is Skruf's first entirely tobacco-free range, launched 2018 and built on one of Sweden's larger snus production infrastructures. Broad flavour palette spanning mint, liquorice, fruit and berry.
X All White. Savsjo · Skruf Snus AB (Imperial Brands) · launched 2021 as ZONE X, renamed X All White in 2024. Bamboo fibre as the carrier instead of standard cellulose - the brand's distinguishing characteristic. Same Savsjo factory makes SUPERWHITE, ZONE and Knox.
ZONE. Savsjo · Skruf Snus AB (Imperial Brands) · 2025. Skruf's newest line; the Sävsjö factory runs round-the-clock with 200+ employees, producing millions of cans weekly. Strong and Ultra Strong, dot-count strength indicator (3-5 dots). Cool Mint, Sweet Mint, Berry Blast, Juicy Peach, Watermelon Ice, Orange Razz.
on!. Originally Swiss (Burger Söhne) · now Altria Group, US. The only Big Tobacco pouch with non-Swedish origins. Altria acquired full ownership of the global on! business from Burger Söhne Holding AG between 2019 and 2021. Manufacturing was relocated to Råå S AB in Helsingborg, Sweden (Altria-owned, founded 2011); commercial ops sit with Helix Sweden AB (international) and Helix Innovations LLC (US). Small mini-format pouches, focused flavour catalogue. on! PLUS, is the higher-strength sibling.
FUMi. Odeshog · Helix Sweden AB (Altria group) · launched 2021. Altria's second pouch brand alongside on! - both run through Helix Sweden AB. FUMi is physically made at the Ödeshög facility associated with The Snus Brothers (the same factory behind Dunc). Distinguished by a softer premium nonwoven pouch material and an off-piste flavour identity: Salty Violet, Zingy Ginger, Prickly Pear - profiles with no clear equivalent elsewhere in the category.
Icelandic, Nordic and other origins
A small but visible group of brands come from outside the Sweden/US core - some Nordic neighbours, some continental.
ACE & ACE X. Denmark · Ministry of Snus · today part of Scandinavian Tobacco Group (STG) (Danish manufacturer with stated craftsmanship heritage back to 1826). Higher end of the strength scale, with mint variants and more unusual fruit and spice combinations. Cans manufactured in Denmark in 100% recyclable plastic.
BAGZ. Poland · Promotorzy Trading. Wide strength range, including a "Crazy Strong" tier up to 55 mg/g - well above most Nordic brands. Flavours: Power Mint, Cola Max, Arctic Freeze, Mango Lassi, Berry Cool, Fruit Punch.
CAMO. *Lithuania · Global Snus UAB, Vilnius.* All-white slim pouches with a modern can design. One of the larger non-Nordic European entrants. *Caffeine-pouch variant covered separately.*
CoCo. Sweden × Cannadips (US) · SpectrumLeaf AB · September 2023. The only mainstream pouch with 100% natural coconut coir fibre as filler instead of wood cellulose - smoother texture, more controlled flavour release. Vegan, non-GMO, gluten-free, soy-free.
Greatest. Helsinki · Premium Pouch Finland Oy · 2023. Within six months of launch it was Finland's most-bought pouch brand. The distinguishing feature is the "Cold Dry" production process - drier, slower-release pouches than the standard slightly-moist Swedish format.
ICE. *Iceland · 2019*. One of the few non-Swedish manufacturers in the early modern wave. Tobacco-free, with both nicotine and caffeine lines made in Iceland.
NOR. Norway · Den Norske Snusfabrikken AS · 2022. End-to-end production at the company's own Norwegian facility. The brand identity is built around material development - pouch construction and fibre carrier rather than flavour-as-marketing.
Pablo. Estonia · N.G.P Europe OÜ. Firmly Extra Strong / Super Strong. Narrower flavour range than mid-strength brands - mint plus a handful of fruit options - and a consistent positioning at the top end of the nicotine scale.
77. Poland · Luna Corporate · 2021. Same Polish producer behind Cafero (caffeine), Bjorn, Maverick and X-Booster. Luna's leadership previously ran CHIC Group / eSmokingWorld, sold to BAT in 2015-16. Slim format, several strengths, mint through fruit.

What's in the table tells the bigger story: of the brands we carry, around 70% are Swedish or manufactured in Sweden. Most of the rest come from Sweden's near neighbours - Norway, Iceland, Denmark, Finland - or from a small number of continental European producers (Lithuania, Estonia, Poland). One American-owned brand (on!) is in our range.
Brands covered in the atlas but not stocked at 24Nico: ZYN (PMI), VELO + VELO SHIFT (BAT), Nordic Spirit (JTI), Skruf SUPERWHITE + X All White + ZONE (Imperial Brands), plus Pablo (N.G.P Europe). We do stock on! and FUMi from the Altria/Helix Sweden range. The Big Tobacco tier brands are covered in the body for atlas completeness; the table only reflects what we actually sell.
How to read a can: spotting manufacturer info
The brand name is the largest text on the can. The manufacturer name is almost always in small print on the side, the base, or the back panel - usually next to a Stockholm or other Swedish address for Swedish brands, or a Reykjavik / Oslo / Vilnius / Warsaw equivalent for non-Swedish ones.
Three things worth looking for:
- Manufacturer name and registered address. This tells you who actually made the pouch. If a brand markets itself as Swedish but the manufacturer address is in a different country, that's a flag worth knowing about - not necessarily a problem, but it changes what you're buying.
- Country of manufacture. Some cans list this explicitly as "Made in Sweden" or "Manufactured in Iceland". When it's not listed, the manufacturer address usually answers the same question.
- Batch and best-before. Pouches dry out over time, and a fresher batch will release more nicotine and flavour for longer. The best-before date tells you when the manufacturer expects the recipe to start losing its character.
For a UK consumer in 2026, the combination of a recognised manufacturer name and a clear country of origin is the simplest quality signal. Most established brands meet that bar; some newer entrants don't, and that's a useful data point in itself.
