ZYN Nicotine Pouches

About ZYN: Swedish Match's global nicotine pouch brand

ZYN was developed by Swedish Match and launched in Colorado in 2014 as a small-batch product. From 2016 it expanded across the US and into Sweden, and a US manufacturing expansion completed in 2019 enabled a national rollout. In November 2022 Philip Morris International acquired Swedish Match, bringing ZYN into its portfolio of alternative nicotine products.

By 2023 ZYN was the largest nicotine pouch brand in the world by volume, with 384.8 million cans sold globally that year and a 76 % share of the US nicotine pouch market. Demand outpaced production in 2024, and a second US plant in Aurora, Colorado, is planned to come on stream in 2026.

The ZYN range at 24Nico

We carry ZYN in both of its formats. ZYN Mini is the compact pouch, 20 to a can, at 1.5 mg, 3 mg and 6 mg per pouch. ZYN Slim is the longer, slimmer pouch that sits flat under the lip, 20–21 to a can, at 6 mg, 6.5 mg, 9 mg, 11 mg, 13.5 mg and 16.5 mg per pouch. Every strength is stated as nicotine per pouch, which is the figure that matters when you compare brands.

• Mint: Cool Mint, Spearmint, Peppermint, Gentle Mint, Apple Mint, Blueberry Mint, Watermelon Mint, Menthol Ice and Cool Mint Ice — the widest strength spread, from 1.5 mg Mini to 16.5 mg Slim
• Fruit and berry: Black Cherry, Citrus, Peach, Sour Apple, Sour Cherry, Red Fruits, Lemon Spritz, Passion Pineapple, Red Berry Fizz and Blackcurrant Ice
• Coffee: Coffee Mini in three strengths, with notes of chocolate and nougat
• Liquorice and spice: Violet Licorice, Cactus Spice and Raspberry Spice

Mini or Slim?

Mini is the discreet choice and the natural starting point: a smaller pouch, a lower nicotine range and a 20-pouch can. Slim carries ZYN's higher strengths and a longer-lasting release. If you are new to nicotine pouches, start at 1.5 mg or 3 mg Mini; experienced users tend to settle between 6 mg and 11 mg. The 13.5 mg and 16.5 mg Slim products are intended for experienced adult users only.

ZYN vs snus

ZYN is not snus. Snus is made from ground tobacco; ZYN pouches contain no tobacco leaf at all. The two formats look similar — both sit under the upper lip — but their contents and regulatory treatment differ. For a full breakdown, see our snus vs nicotine pouches guide.

How to use ZYN

Place one pouch between your upper lip and gum. ZYN recommends using each pouch for around 30 minutes; used pouches can be stored in the compartment built into the lid. Do not swallow. For positioning, timing and first-session tips, see how to use nicotine pouches.

ZYN nicotine pouches in Ireland

24Nico stocks 43 products from ZYN for customers in Ireland, 3–11 mg of nicotine per pouch in mini and slim format, with mint, citrus, chocolate among the flavours. In Ireland they are often called ZYN snus; every pouch is tobacco-free, and the strength is always per pouch, not per gram. ZYN is the brand most newcomers in Ireland ask for by name; the range stocked here runs from ZYN Mini at 3 mg to the 11 mg slims, with mint, citrus, chocolate and liquorice among the flavours.
